Resilient Crop Systems Lab

The Resilient Crop Systems Lab (ReCSLab) asks and answers questions in agronomic management practices that enhance productivity and profitability, build resilience to climate change, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions of cropping systems, including the integration of livestock systems. We strive to identify local agronomic constraints and understand the interactions of crops and management interactions; and develop relevant and actionable solutions.

Core Research Areas

Cropping systems agronomy

Including the design of weather-resilient crop management practices, including validation and promotion of yield-enhancing and sustaining technologies and innovations

Plant nutrition

With particular emphasis on nitrogen and phosphorus use efficiency, as well as micro-nutrients; and soil moisture-nutrient interactions

Agro-ecology science

Particularly refining conservation agriculture principles for site-specific maximization of systems’ efficiency: soil moisture conservation strategies for drylands

Precision agriculture

Development of data-driven support systems that integrate internet of things and data analytics for targeted response to spatial and temporal variability in cropped lands
